It is mostly shady due to its vegetation of coast redwood, madrone, and oak brush. Expect temperatures of 70°F-90°F in the summer. Nearby volleyball poles and horseshoe pits are provide, but not equipment, nor it is rented. There is a grassy meadow about 200 ft. from the picnic area, which is open to all visitors and not just meadow picnickers.
