The San Mateo County Tobacco Prevention Program (TPP) conducts community-based tobacco education programs and services for San Mateo County, with the intent of reducing the number of residents using tobacco products. We educate community members about federal, state, and local tobacco control laws, while working toward the following goals:
-
Reducing the number of San Mateo County residents using tobacco products.
-
Limiting the community's exposure to harmful secondhand smoke.
-
Helping youth to be healthy by never becoming smokers
The San Mateo County TPP receives direction from the San Mateo County Tobacco Education Coalition - a group of individuals and organizations concerned about tobacco use in San Mateo County and committed to improving the health of County residents. The role of the Coalition is to identify priority tobacco education needs in San Mateo County and work with residents and agencies within the County to provide services to meet those needs.
